Our Technical Team
Andy has over thirty (30) years working experience in auditing, accounting, enterprise risk management, Internal audit quality control reviews. strategic management planning, and projects management and evaluation using capacity works development strategies. He has been in Consultancy since Andy Thom & Associates Consulting (ATAC), formally Andy & Thom Associates, was founded on 8th June 2016.
He began his career at the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Malawi as an Auditor. He later worked for the Malawi Electricity Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) as Internal Audit Manager and Senior Risk Manager. He finished his employment career at GIZ as Internal Audit Technical Advisor to the Internal Audit Department of Malawi Government. He is now in full time consultancy.
Andy has a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Management Degree (MSc) obtained from University of Derby in United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA), a Chartered Accountant Malawi (CA(M), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Risk Management Assurer (CRMA), and a Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM). He also has certifications Internal Audit Quality Assurance reviews, and in Capacity Works Development Strategies for development and implementation of projects.
Thomas Andy Chitete is a highly motivated and results-oriented Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in public finance accounting and management. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered high-quality financial services and driven operational improvements. He is adept at building strong relationships and fostering a customer-centric approach.
Thomas’s experience spans across various organizations. He currently serves as the Chief Accountant for Platinum Insurance Loss Adjusters and Engineers, where he manages all financial operations and reporting. Previously, he provided comprehensive accounting services to several District Councils in Malawi, including Balaka, Neno, Machinga, and Ntchisi. He also held leadership positions within the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, acting as Director of Finance and Senior Assistant Accountant for Thyolo District Council.
Thomas is a Chartered Accountant and a member of two esteemed professional bodies: The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi and ACCA. He further strengthens his qualifications with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Diploma in Accountancy.
